Windows Platform and Excel
In order to run SAFARI ODBC through EXCEL, your version of EXCEL must be 32 bit. SAFARI _will not_ work on a 64 bit version of EXCEL.
Also, if you download SAFARI onto a Windows 7 (64 bit) laptop, you will have to do the following troubleshooting step after SAFARI is downloaded (but before you run ODBC to set up USAS & USPS access).
When installing Safari ODBC on Windows 7(64 bit), the 64 bit ODBC Data Source Administrator will open by default. As a result this will not display the Safari driver in the list of drivers available. To correct this, follow these steps: When using a shortcut or menu item, right click on the icon and go to properties. In the Target field replace the following: C:\Windows\System32\odbcad32.exe with: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe. Click Apply and close the properties window. Start ODBC Data Source Administrator by clicking on the menu item or double clicking the shortcut. When you click on Add, the Safari driver should appear in the list. If this does not work, try right clicking on the menu item or icon and selecting Run As Administrator.
